Windows Embedded Developer Update 簡稱WEDU, 讓Windows Embedded開發者較容易的取得開發環境的更新，比起過去透過微軟的ECE網站每個月下載最新更新檔，需要透過CLA簽署取得帳號密碼權限，可以說是簡化了很多。
WEDU預設為成長駐程式，自動偵測目前開發工具的版本及更新，將目前合適的更新檔分類及提供更新檔描述。目前WEDU僅支援Standard 7，後續Compact 7也將有機會WEDU來更新。
